Code Signing for Digital ID’s |

VeriSign Code Signing Digital IDs enable software developers to add a digital signature to
software and macros including Microsoft Authenticode, Microsoft Office and VBA Signing, Sun
Java Signing, Netscape Object Signing, Macromedia Shockwave, and Marimba Castanet Channel
Digital IDs for secure delivery over the Internet. Digital IDs are virtual "shrinkwrap" for your
software; if your code is tampered with in any way after it is signed, the digital signature will
break and alert customers that the code is not trustworthy.
| Microsoft Authenticode Digital ID >> |
In conjunction with Microsoft's Authenticode technology, this enables you to digitally sign 32-
bit or 64-bit .exe (PE files), .cab, .dll and .ocx, files. You must use Internet Explorer 5.x or
later to enroll for and pick up your Authenticode code signing certificate.

| Sun Java Signing Digital ID >> |
Used with the Signing tools part of the Sun Java SDK, this certificate is used for generating
digital signatures for Java Archive (JAR) files: Java applets, midlets and other Java
applications that may be deployed stand-alone or in the IE or Netscape browsers.
Note: Minimum Version Requirement: Please see the following Sun Alert for minimum version
requirements for the Sun Java SDK (Software Developer Kit) and JRE (Java Runtime
Environment).

| Microsoft Office and VBA Signing Digital ID >> |
Allows software publishers to digitally sign Macros for Office 2000, Office 2003, Office XP,
and VBA objects. Learn more about VeriSign "Designed for Windows logo" Digital IDs and
other Digital Trust Services for Microsoft products.

| Netscape Object Signing Digital ID >> |
In conjunction with Netscape's signing tools, this certificate enables you to digitally sign
software files that target the Netscape 4.x browsers for deployment, like Netscape plug-ins,
applets, executables and other file types accepted by the Netscape browser.
Important: Netscape no longer offers the signing tools or support for older versions of the
Netscape browser. This Digital ID is offered for those users who still provide tools for the
legacy versions of Netscape. However, you must use Netscape 7.0 or later versions to enroll
for the certificate.

| Macromedia Shockwave Digital ID >> |
Allows software publishers to digitally sign the content created with Macromedia Director 8
Shockwave Studio.

| Marimba Castanet Channel Signing Digital ID >> |
Allows software publishers to digitally sign the content which they distribute on the Castanet
Channel.
